Tutorial: How do I get Google Maps routes into Inkscape?

1. Create a new map with Google My Maps:

2. Create a route:
 3. Export as KML

 4. Go to http://indiemapper.com/app/ (The link does'n work any longer) and import the KML file:
 5. Use the export button to export it to SVG:

 4. / 5. Update: Use https://mygeodata.cloud/converter/kml-to-svg to convert the KML to SVG.

 6. Open the file in Inkscape

Low polygon 3D europe map

Hello my latest little project is a 3D low polygon map. I used Blender and Gimp to create this map: I've started with an elevation map of Europe I found on the website from "The European Environment Agency" (EEA). Thank you EU for this image: http://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/figures/elevation-map-of-europe Then I had to cut of the black border with Gimp and created a second image as height map: For this step I converted the image to black and white and then used the curve tool to make the mountains darker. This will make the mountains in the final image higher and easier to discover. How to integrate a 360° Panorama with A-Frame into a Blogger post

This is a follow up of my last post "Panorama of old vase in VR" . The team from Klassik Stiftung Weimar asked me if it is possible to view the panorama directly into the blog without the link to google photos. My first answer was no, but then I started to research. I liked the idea to be a little bit more independent from Google. Google stopped the support of the Daydream last year and there will be no new smartphone with Daydream support. That means I will need to find other VR glasses if my smartphone will ever stop working. The good news is, I found A-Frame , an open-source web framework for building virtual reality (VR) experiences. A-Frame supports most VR headsets such as Vive, Rift, Windows Mixed Reality, Daydream, GearVR, Cardboard, Oculus Go, and can even be used for augmented reality. QGIS 3D MAP mit offenen Daten

Wie man hier im Blog sehen kann, beschäftige ich mich schon seit einiger Zeit mit der Erstellung von Karten für Fotobücher. Bisher habe ich dafür GIMP und Inkscape verwendet. Nun wurde ich zum ersten Mal "gezwungen" mich mit QGIS zu beschäftigen. Auslöser war ein Blogpost von https://opendata.stadt-muenster.de/ über 3D-Gebäudedaten , die für ganz NRW kostenlos zur verfügung stehen. Also habe ich den Urlaub zwischen den Feiertagen genutzt mir verschiede Tutorials über QGIS anzuschauen, damit ich überhaubt was mit den Daten anfangen konnte. Als Testgebiet habe ich die Schleife in Münster Kinderhaus gewählt, da es dort viele Häuser in unterschiedlichen Höhen gibt. Leider war die Qualität der 3D-Gebäudemodelle "LoD1" und "LoD2" schlechter als erhofft.
